These
are the covers of the original two-part edition of which I still have limited
quantities available. There will be a collected digest edition coming this
summer or fall, (I hope!) that will have all new lettering. See the catalogue
for details on purchasing.

This
is the second story in the Arrowflight series. After their encounter with
"The Chinless Wonder" in Covenant territory, Sky and Mariah bum around
the extreme south Pacific for a couple of weeks, but find that seals and
shorebirds really don't have much to say. It's then that they intercept
a weak, barely intelligible radio signal coming from Easter Island (or
Rapa-Nui for Polynesian enthusiasts) which has been cut off from the rest
of the world by a 'wall of storms' for about a dog's age. The wall finally
opens up for them alone, and there they find out a lot of things - not
only what happened to the last shuttle mission before the Collapse but
also long-buried secrets which have more personal implications for
both than they ever dreamed of! That and the unpleasant news that the Aryan
Covenant and the Jihadi powers have become bedfellows of necessity due
to the global boycotts imposed upon both; desperation tempts these tyrannical
regimes to pry into things that have been dead for millenia and should
have stayed that way! The pirates roving the seas looking for booty and
ransomable captives are just the tip of the iceberg, but they DO make excellent
target practice for growing boys and girls... |
